Genesis
In 2003, Alain Dominique Perrin decided to create his own sailboat: the ADP 52, a high-tech 15.70-metre racing–cruising yacht, designed in collaboration with naval architect Jean-Marie Finot.
Built entirely in carbon fibre as a prototype, the ADP 52 aims to combine the performance of a racing yacht with the comfort of a cruising boat.
Design
Born from the pencil strokes of Jean-Marie Finot and Pascal Conq, Aile 7 proudly claims a clear lineage: the DNA of their IMOCA designs, blended with the fundamentals of cruising yachts.
The influence of the Vendée Globe 60-footers is clearly present, as well as that of Cigale, which guided the quest for a yacht that is seaworthy, high-performing, and enjoyable to live aboard.
Build
The construction of the female moulds and the building of the first — and only — Aile 7 were entrusted to the Tresco shipyard.
The wing mast, designed and built by Alucarbon, is still the original one.
The interior layout, combining carbon fibre, Fenix and white leather, was designed by Pierre Forgia and crafted by Antoine Lotin.
This exceptional project spanned two years and required nearly 50,000 hours of work.
Sailing Programme
Designed for offshore sailing, Aile 7 was conceived to explore, over a fifteen-year period, a vast cruising ground stretching from Turkey to Norway
